The 2011 collaboration took about 10 months, half-way across the globe (approximately over 6,740 miles or 1,0847 kilometres) over email and a shared passion in electric guitar-based instrumental music.

The title "Simpler Times" was based on a loose revolving theme of carefree days over friendship, sundaes and ice-cream cones -- with one of the collaborator's trip to view an Eclipse -- thrown in.
