Minwen & Ivan Chew - Thousand Eyes

from 2019 In The Forest of the Night by Ivan Chew & Friends

/

about

This started as re-worked vocals from this earlier piece (artivanchew.bandcamp.com/track/night-has-a-thousand-eyes), which was an adaptation of Francis William Bourdillon’s beautiful 1895 poem “The Night Has a Thousand Eyes”.

Then Minwen had the brilliant idea of combining the 12th century hymn "Veni, veni, Emmanuel" aka "O_Come, O Come, Emmanuel". The latin words seemed to fit the mood and melody, so here we are.

This arrangement has a bit of Enya-inspired vocal melody and arrangement.
